Students who have already begun a degree at another university can continue their studies in a higher semester at Fachhochschule Düsseldorf under certain conditions. Only Fachhochschule Düsseldorf can assign a place in a higher semester. The procedure depends on whether the student is applying to change the place of study or change the type of degree.
Place of Study
A student would like to change to the same degree from another University of Applied Sciences.
Type of Degree
A student would like to change to another or similar degree in a higher semester from another University of Applied Sciences or University.
Application Deadlines
by 15 March of each calendar year for the summer semester
by 15 September of each calendar year for the winter semester

Application Procedure
Students changing their place of study make an application for a higher semester by submitting their current study certifications which should clearly show the current semester and degree subject(s).
Students changing their degree make an application for a higher semester by submitting an overview of their performance and grades from the previous degree. It must be possible to accept at least one semester by assessing previous examination performance so that an application for a higher semester can be considered. Acceptance is given by the relevant examinations office in writing. If you are not accepted, you will have to apply for the first semester either through Hochschulstart or directly through the Fachhochschule (FHD) depending on the degree you are applying for.
There are some limitations to changing to a higher semester for some degrees at FH D, i.e. only a fixed number of places can be given for a particular degree and this number cannot be exceeded.
